Lunatic Moon was the first book to be published by Gatehouse Press. Jenny Morris, the author and also an artist, created a piece of artwork for the cover. It features the Moon with a claw-like tree reaching out.

Jenny writes poems in fiction, she was born in North Yorkshire and spent some of her childhood in Scotland. Her writing has been published in the UK, USA and Australia. A sequence of her poems was awarded first prize at the Writers Inc Writer Of The Year competition in 2002. Two years later, a short story of hers was also a Writers Inc winner.

Along with the book cover, a t-shirt design was created for the launch party, as well as promotional posters and a web page.
