Starstruck Media

Starstruck Media is one of the UK’s fastest growing production companies. They provide entertainment-related content for around 200 websites, television channels and international partners. Their Showreels department is responsible for creating the talent tapes of television stars such as Jayne Middlemiss, Theo Pafitis and Scott Mills.

Brief

The original Starstruck Media brand was created by Norwich Designer in 2006 and when it came to refreshing the brand in 2009, the company tasked Norwich Designer with the challenge.

Starstruck Media needed a logo to act as the face of their company, they also needed a website and business cards to help promote their business. Norwich Designer were also asked to create a short animation or “production slide” of their logo, this is to be used at the end of their productions.

Starstruck Media already had an idea how they wanted their website to look, and provided Norwich Designer with examples of what to aim for. They liked the idea of tabs to display content, and a large image in the background which would show through. These were to be some of the main features.

Solution

A number of logo concepts were created, but the accepted design was based on a star and a lightening strike.

Norwich Designer created a four-page website, integrating videos of some of Starstruck Media’s work. The Productions, Content and Showreels sections take on the look of their individual logos while remaining true to the main look of the website.

The business cards are simple with the logo prominent on both sides. The back of the card features an image from the website.

Norwich Designer created a few concepts for animations for the production slide, forming the logo in various ways. The winning animation starts in darkness, a neon light flickers as it switches on and lights up the scene, revealing the entire logo.

Result

Starstruck Media love their new branding, they continue to grow as a business, quickly becoming a well known production company working with some of the biggest brands in the world. The Starstruck Media logo is seen by thousands on digital and terrestrial television in the UK.
